What’s the status of the Montana Supreme Court decision on the voter referendum that required parental notification of a minor’s wish to get an abortion?

S.B. 107 just recently passed the Montana State Senate just a week ago….it is a pro-homosexual indoctrination masked as a child protection law….it is sitting on the governors desk right now.

If this goes through every piece of legislation to protect our kids…our families, our way of life in Montana is shot through.

Prayerfully take immediate action in Jesus Name.

i did.

When do the petitions for repealing Common Core need to be returned by? Thanks.

Hello, this is Emily Wilkinson (I know several MFF folks- I work at St. Catherine Clinic in Belgrade and do a lot of pro-life activism). I know that you occasionally send out notifications about relevant events, so I thought I’d tell you that Students for Life at Montana State University is sponsoring a speaker next week. It’s Sally Winn, vice president of Feminists for Life of America, and she will give a free lecture at MSU entitled “Refuse to Choose: Reclaiming Feminism.” FFL provides a feminist, woman-centered perspective in the pro-life movement which I think is extremely important, and it should be an excellent talk. (See feministsforlife.org) If you think it might be something you’d mention in an email, you can let me know and I’ll email you the press release…my email is aspenmaiden@gmail.com. Thank you!!

We are looking for your support to help stop the COMMON CORE STANDARDS in our schools, the federal government has absolutely no business being involved in education in Montana! Here is a petition please sign it and and send it to Gina Satterfield…

A PETITION REQUESTING MONTANA ATTORNEY GENERAL TIM FOX TO DECLARE THE ACTION OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC EDUCATION MANDATING COMMON CORE CURRICULUM TO BE ILLEGALLY ENACTED.

We the undersigned hereby request Montana State Attorney General Tim Fox to declare the actions of the Board of Public Education mandating Common Core Standards in Montana Public Schools to be unlawful under the state law for the following reasons;

The action of mandating Common Core Standards will require school districts throughout the state to spend millions of dollars for items such as tests, computers, software and teacher training. This action, which places a monetary burden on the districts, can only be enacted after an intervening legislature has occurred between the declaration and the enactment of such a monetary event.

The Public Board of Education did not hold public meetings, with proper notice, prior to enactment of Common Core. Montana state law calls for duly noticed public meetings prior to these changes. The Board held only professional meetings that were not noticed to the general public.

Letter to the Editor,

The movie killer, James Holmes, can marry an admiring “fan” and have conjugal visits with his wife.

A stripper who has sex with married clients and spreads disease among them can get married at any time.

A man who creates a child with a woman and leaves them without paying child support or fathering the child is free to marry another woman.

Soon, illegal citizens will receive social security benefits that they can leave to their spouses upon death. (Senior Citizen’s League in Washington D.C.)

I am a worker on a ranchette and grow food to share with family and friends. I live by the mantra “don’t harm others,” and volunteer to make my community safe and strong. I do not lie, cheat, steal, kill or sleep with other women’s husbands. Yet, I am not allowed to get married or receive survivor benefits because my partner of 22 years is a woman.

I think it is important that you know what you do is hurtful to many people. History will look back and view your organization as a hindrance to progress. The words that members of your organization speak make me feel less of a person, marginalized, hated, and fearful. YOU perpetuate hate. YOU spread speech that belittles people who are different than you. YOU lack the ability to think for yourself… Why do you want to hurt people? why do you want to make people feel bad about themselves?

I hope that you recognize the agenda of your organization is not mainstream. Among my well educated friends and myself you are the butt of our jokes. Your archaic views on homosexuality and what it means to be a family are no longer held by the majority of people. This is just a note to let you know that soon, I will marry my spouse (who is also a male) and your organization will deal. My children will go to school with yours, and I hope they will become friends. I will shop at the same stores as you, and I will live on your street, and hopefully someday we may also be friends.

With hope and love

Cole

I was also wondering about what Chris Helvik had asked (Common Core):

Are you doing any work on the core curriculum that is being put in place by 2014 in the state. It by passes the local involvment in thier schools. It also violates the 10th amendment. I just briefly heard on the news a couple of weeks ago that Skyview was implementing it by 2014, so I assume that it would be state wide. It is a nation wide movement that will not only take over the schools but also our children. With the school choice bills that you are promoting how will you be able to protect these children from what is being taught in the public school. We need to wake up and stop this violation of the 10th amendment and bring the schools back under local control. Chris Helvik

This is not good news for Home Schools, Private Schools, and our children.

I think I would like to communicate with your organization but given you do not provide an e-mail address I can use and I detest the so called organizational formats I guess if you send me an e-mail address perhaps we can chat. Thank you.

Greetings,

I would like to introduce myself and our organization to you in hopes that there will be possibilities to network and offer mutual support in the future in behalf of Christian values and ideals in Montana. I helped to testify in behalf of HB 239 recently in the Senate committee along with Jeff Lazloffy. I would like to stay in touch and to offer our assistance in standing for educational freedom here in our state as well as other pro family issues.

Please feel free to contact us or visit our website at: www.mtchristianhomeschoolingassoc.org

Stay in touch and we look forward to joining your coalition of freedom loving and God fearing Americans in the future. God bless!

Sincerely,

Montana Parental Notification Act Being Threatened

by Guest Author

Written by the Montana Family Foundation

CitizenLink is proud to work with the Montana Family Foundation and other organizations across the country to stand for marriage, life and religious freedom.

Last November, Montanans voted for the Parental Notification Act by a 71 percent margin. This law requires abortion providers to notify at least one parent of a minor under the age of 16 prior to performing an abortion.

Warning: The new law is now being threatened!

The act allows for a judicial bypass, which means the minor can petition the Youth Court for a waiver of the parental notification requirement. If the Youth Court grants the petition, the minor can receive the abortion without notifying a parent. To do this, the court must find a compelling reason to grant the bypass. If the Youth Court denies the petition to waive the parental notification requirement, the minor can appeal the decision to the Montana Supreme Court.

Here is the problem:

The Office of the Appellate Defender (OAD) has proposed a rule which would expedite the minor’s appeal, so that “if the Supreme Court fails to enter an order within 72 hours, the clerk shall issue a certificate stating that:

(1) no order was entered within 72 hours, after the appeal was docketed; and

(2) the failure to enter an order constitutes a constructive order authorizing the minor to undergo an abortion without notice to a parent or guardian.

This means that if a minor appeals the decision of the Youth Court to deny the parental notification waiver and the Supreme Court doesn’t act within 72 hours, the Supreme Court AUTOMATICALLY REVERSES the decision of the Youth Court!

Montana Attorney General, Tim Fox, stated in his comments on the proposed rule that “This unusual provision effectively establishes a presumption that the Youth Court erred in denying a waiver” and that “Courts of appeal typically give deference to a lower court’s factual findings-especially where, as here, the youth court will have provided a written record of its findings and conclusions. The proposed rule, as written, institutionalizes a structural mistrust of lower court decisions that is as unwarranted as it is unprecedented.”

This was not the intent of the law — it is a loophole that abortion providers will use to get around parental notification.
